How To Enable Education 21 Back to School Mission Possible Campaign

By Tabitha Makumi, Enabling Support Foundation Communications and PR.

How long do you think schools will remain closed? That’s one of the most common question with parents and teachers who fret on how long it has taken to get back in classrooms.

With Enabling Support Foundation’s educational app for students in early learning, Kusoma has been used effectively during COVID 19 school closures in Kenya and Uganda, and has been instrumental in enhancing education in the region.

The Founder and CEO Robert Zenhausern and educators within the organization have been busy in structuring a home curriculum and ensuring early child education is supported at all times.

In development are Enabling Support Foundation educational packages for Language Arts which will be available on the website's theater soon.

In the meantime support the Back To School Mission Possible Campaign by engaging with leaders in the education sector and let students get back to school.

How to Enroll for a Guest Status at Enabling Support Foundation

By Tabitha Makumi, Enabling Support Foundation Communications and PR. Are you a parent, teacher or a school hoping to join Enabling Support Foundation? With the COVID 19 school closures still in effect, ESF is working on ensuring teachers, parents and schools are not left behind. Peace Flame Network, an Education 21 Program which facilitates education in Kenya and Uganda with more than 900 students on board is hoping to have more professionals on the program. “Before COVID-19 affected the world run-ins and operations in every sector, we were set for a full-scale implementation. The virus may have closed the schools, but this very dark cloud had a bright golden lining.  We developed an efficient guidance to show parents how to teach their children how to read and pronounce words,” shares Robert Zenhaursern, the Foundation’s CEO. With a back to school mission possible strategy in mind, Enabling Support Foundation is working on enrolling more teachers, schools and parent...

Learning with Kusoma Has Never Gone Wrong

Lessons by Dr. Robert Zenhausern, Enabling Support Foundation CEO & Founder. When a child has learned the meaning of the spoken word, he/she can learn the meaning of the written word.  The key is in the meaning, very hard to define, but summarized in the common statement of “I know what it is.” When educators teach a child a new spoken word, they are connecting meaning to the sound.  In the same way when you teach a new written word, you are connecting meaning to the word.  Reading should be easier because after the spoken word meaning is gone, the print remains. The Kusoma app can be used for basic vocabulary and I expect a sentence app to be available soon. In formal school (PP1 and 2), the child learns the use of LLT. After a lesson of 10 words, those 10 words have many uses which a child can use to read and understand sentences. Furthermore, they can learn to write sentences of their own. And that’s just not it, with learning to lean in on the Kusoma App...
