The most common problem in Dyslexia is in phonetic decoding. But phonetic decoding is the way reading is taught and so these children have difficulty reading. It handicaps all children and it’s impossible for the 20 per cent of the population we label as “dyslexic” Reading is traditionally taught using phonetic decoding or “sounding out”.
