A Successful “Hackathon” at Education 21

With school closure still in effect in most part of the world, Enabling Support Foundation (ESF) has been on a mission of ensuring kids in early learning get the best education now and when all schools re-open.

Recently, the Foundation’s CEO attended a communications and educational “hackathon” which turned out to be not only successful but also effective for ESF.

Created by a tech solutions social enterprise dubbed (Klugcode) with the intent to connect with educators at the event, the platform offered a meaningful platform for educators to connect and partner in education.

“This was my first Hackathon, but I found it a most rewarding time,” shares Dr. Robert Zenhausern  

With an academic background and a strong computer networking orientation, the CEO shares that, “I met people, exchanged ideas, and developed the seed on projects.”

Enabling Support Foundation plans to use the education from the event learnings in the upcoming projects within its schools to better the education sector in the countries of its coverage.

Learning with Kusoma Has Never Gone Wrong

Lessons by Dr. Robert Zenhausern, Enabling Support Foundation CEO & Founder. When a child has learned the meaning of the spoken word, he/she can learn the meaning of the written word.  The key is in the meaning, very hard to define, but summarized in the common statement of “I know what it is.” When educators teach a child a new spoken word, they are connecting meaning to the sound.  In the same way when you teach a new written word, you are connecting meaning to the word.  Reading should be easier because after the spoken word meaning is gone, the print remains. The Kusoma app can be used for basic vocabulary and I expect a sentence app to be available soon. In formal school (PP1 and 2), the child learns the use of LLT. After a lesson of 10 words, those 10 words have many uses which a child can use to read and understand sentences. Furthermore, they can learn to write sentences of their own.
